If you want to see someone who speaks the truth and is an advocate for real people and discusses problems with body image, you should listen to Jamie Lee Curtis.
Jamie Lee Curtis is a wonderful actress who has been in Hollywood movies for more than 30 years. She is the daughter of Tony Curtis who recently past away. She was raised in the obsessive Hollywood environment that said, "be skinny as a rail." If you watch her early movies and compare them to her latest ones you will see she has changed over the years. We all do! No matter how hard you try - I am sorry to tell you this - you will get older. But you can get older gracefully.
Jamie Lee Curtis is now about 53 years old and has constantly struggled with her body image. As she has gotten older, she has decided to become a real person who is not obsessed with her weight. Don't get me wrong, she still looks good, but she is not sticking her finger down her throat after meals, the way many young actresses do. Over the years, she has learned to maintain her body image by doing her own thing. She, like many of us, has tried lots of things. She found what works best for her. I am not going to tell you what she does, I don't know - that is not the point. The point is that she found something that worked for her, and she committed herself to it.
Have you found what works best for you? Are you still struggling to lose the excess weight? Of course, you are not alone. Over one third of American adults are overweight. McDonald's is on every corner (I am guessing you normally do not order the McSalad), and Starbucks is promoting those high fat coffee drinks (I am guessing you don't order the low calorie stuff.) Come on, get real. If you do the same thing today, that you did yesterday, you will always be in the same condition.
Starting a weight loss plan begins with research. Find out what is right for you. There are no miracle cures. It takes work and a commitment. There are so many diet plans available today it can make your head spin. I encourage you to find something - something is better than the same old nothing you may have been doing lately. There is so much information available on the internet today and much of it is free. There really are no excuses anymore. Just do it!
